Overview
CanList (“we”, “us”) provides a grocery list and local discovery service. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account details such as name, email, and authentication provider. Family and list data you create, including item names and quantities. Optional location details you set for your family so we can show nearby listings. Brand applications and contact messages you send us. Basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use information
We use your information to run CanList, sync shared lists, show relevant local brands, send account emails (such as password reset or invites), respond to support requests, and improve reliability and safety. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
Family members you join with can see shared list content. Service providers that help us host, email, or authenticate (for example cloud hosting, Postmark, or Google sign-in) process data on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law.
Retention
We keep account and list data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account by contacting us. Some records may be retained where needed for security, legal, or operational reasons.
Your choices
You can update profile and family settings in the app, leave a family, or request access or deletion by emailing [email protected]. If you use Google sign-in, Google’s policies also apply to that authentication flow.
